Frequently Asked Questions
How does the consulting process work?
How can we measure the success?
Rome wasn't built in a day, nor will change occur overnight. A nursing consulting engagement's success can be measured through various metrics, such as improved patient satisfaction scores, reduced nurse turnover rates, increased nursing staff competency assessments, and better adherence to evidence-based practices.
Our Orientation Tracking web application, Emergency Nursing Learning Center, provides the ability to measure the impact of your orientation process, from an individual nurse's progress through the program to their tenure with your organization to their patient outcomes relative to the content taught.
What are your qualifications?
All our Partners and Consultants are at least Baccalaureate-prepared Registered Nurses. We all are current bedside nurses and active preceptors for new colleagues. We each hold advanced certifications and licenses such as Trauma Nurse Specialist, Certified Emergency Nurse, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, and Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse. Most of our experience is in Emergency Nursing, but we have also practiced in medical-surgical, Intensive Care, and Forensic Nursing specialty areas.
Our best qualification is our results. This consulting agency was born from a quality improvement project in the significant level 1 trauma center, where we worked to improve the orientation process. We enjoyed turnover as low as 8% per year, and the average new graduate nurse stayed with the organization for over three years.
How do I communicate with the consultant?
Most of our communication can be via video chat, phone calls, or e-mail. We can make ourselves available for site visits or on-site training, with travel and accommodation costs to be covered by the client. We will always look for opportunities to maximize our time, aiming to complete multiple items in a single site visit.
What is the role of my head consultant?
The head consultant for your project is your main point of contact. We will keep you informed of information requests needed to complete your project the stage of your project, and provide support to implement within the scope of your project.
How big is a project team?
A project team depends on the project's scope requested from the client. Once we understand the need, we will assign the task to the best-suited team members to complete the request. The client will have a clear understanding of the scope of the project and the cost before work begins.
What does it cost?
This largely depends on the scope of the work that is needed. We start by listening to the client's needs and assessing where we can help. We aim to leave nursing in a better place than we found, empowering a future generation of nurses. Our process can be as in-depth as your organization requires; start by reaching out.
