Consulting with Nurse Training Strategies (NTS)

Initial consultations with NTS are designed to assess the client's needs that fit their organization or department's objectives. The NTS consultants approach each client with a collaborative spirit, an individualized approach, and a desire to achieve the best results. Using techniques and principles learned in the Flawless Consulting workshop, the consultant will work with the client to create education and orientation strategies that best meet their needs.

NTS Consultant Goals

  • Establish a collaborative relationship with the client.
  • Find a lasting solution for the client's problems.
  • Ensure the clients' technical and business problems are given adequate attention.

Collaborative Relationships

Establishing a collaborative relationship with an NTS client ensures maximum use of both the client and NTS resources. The client and NTS accept responsibility for the success or failure of the relationship. The NTS consultant will serve as a  problem-solver for the client and guide them to the best solution to meet their problems or the organization's needs.

Problem Solving

The NTS consultant will work for the client to solve a problem in their department, facility, or organization. The NTS consultant will schedule an initial meeting with key stakeholders in the client's organization to determine what problem needs solving and what success looks like for the organization.

Each consultation with an NTS client will focus on a sustainability plan for the problem. When contacting NTS for a consultation, the client needs to consider their key stakeholders and have them available for the initial consultation. For orientation curriculum development, key stakeholders should include the end-user, the preceptor, the unit manager, and the bedside nurse. Unsure who to have present at the initial meeting? The NTS consultant guides and solves problems with a collaborative spirit.

Technical and Business Problems

Business or organizational problems have two elements: the technical and business aspects of the problem. During the initial consultation, the NTS consultant will ensure attention is given to both parts of the organization's situation or problem.

NTS is in a unique position for the client. When working with the client to develop an orientation or evaluation process, NTS will address the people and process issues. The NTS consulting team is there to meet the client's operational and education needs.
